Frequently asked questions
The essentials, clearly explained.
Organize documents, instructions, memories, and decisions in an encrypted Legacy, ready for the people you choose.
Can AAK Legacy read what I store?
No. Content is encrypted on your device before it is stored. AAK Legacy can manage your account identity, but cannot read the content of your Legacy while safeguarding it.
Can a guardian access my documents?
No. Their role is to take part in verification. They do not receive access to the content and cannot decide alone.
Do recipients need to install the app?
No. They do not need to install the app. You also decide whether to tell them now or keep their designation private until the time comes for delivery.
What happens if I lose my Recovery Kit?
Your authorized devices can still provide access. But if you lose every authorized device and the kit, the content becomes cryptographically unrecoverable.
Does it replace a will?
No. AAK Legacy helps organize information, instructions, and memories, but does not replace a will, a notarized document, or legal advice.
